We are proud to announce an event as support to This Winter Machine on Saturday 18th October.
Coming from many and varied musical backgrounds, This Winter Machine is a new five member melodic progressive rock band from Leeds. Their debut album, The Man Who Never Was releases this month on Progressive Gears Records.
Suffice to say, This Winter Machine flows from the traditional neo-classical tradition. They note influences from Genesis to Marillion to Porcupine Tree, among others. Their music is characterized by large melodies, smooth vocal harmonies, substantial keyboards, and classic rock guitar solos, wrapped generally lighter, mildly technical, arrangements.
Support will be provided by Midlands based Under a Banner:
Under A Banner return with their new and explosive EP, Riot. For the past five years, this Midlands based outfit has carved out a niche as prime exponents of epic, powerful, passionate and poetic hard rock and metal. The new five-song selection sees the band delving into the traditions of hard rock and metal. Inspired by bands as diverse as New Model Army, Iron Maiden, The Stranglers, The Cult and Rush, the band’s focus for anthemic choruses, big instrumentation and rich vocal harmonies has gone up several notches. Working alongside acclaimed producer Gavin Monaghan (Robert Plant, New Model Army), the band have connected their love for raw, live energy with a desire to bring the heaviness to the fore.
